Assignment:
Identify a classmate and start working in pairs. Brief: Create a project that involves 25 people in one way or another. The goal of this assignment is to bring forward the social aspect and potential of technology. If a certain way to achieve this goal is not feasible, consider changing or expanding your approach. Examples: You could put together 25 links to works that relate to yours, or you could have 25 people commenting on or evaluating your work. Or imagine the production of your work would be based on the involvement of 25 people. Understand that you are not tied to one approach; instead feel free to change strategy as needed.
My Project:
I chose to work with Ren for the Impact 25 project. Our idea is that people will participate through the use of communicative social media, after reading about the collaborative potential it has in the classroom, I thought that it would be a good idea to use it to involve 25 people. I also thought that because of the connivence of social media, more people would be inclined to participate since it wouldn't take much time out of their day to log on quickly and contribute. The main idea is that the community of viewers will give an artist (myself of Ren) instructions about what to do with our hand while drawing on a Facebook Live Feed. In an attempt to make this as simple as possible, we made the guidelines as follows in the event description:
With a Facebook event made for our project, people can add it to their calendars as a reminder, send an invite to other people, and it's an easy way to "mass ask" people to participate. To go further in this project, Ren and I will have to figure out the best time for us to host the event, invite people to the event, and refine our idea so that we minimize unexpected issues/make it entertaining.

Reflections:
Throughout the process of this project, I had a few doubts. Although I had come up with the idea, I was nervous about if anyone would actually participate, but also hopeful because of how unique the project was and the excitingly-mysterious quality of it. I figured that since I never go Facebook Live on my account, people could get curious and join the session just to see what I was doing.
While the project was going on, people trickled in slowly. There were people that came in immediately because they wanted to help my idea. Those people came, commented, and left like I predicted and asked them to do. Others spent more time in the feed to see what the artwork would look like at the end. The rest of the people that participated dropped in and all seemed to be intrigued with the project.
The project started well, people were generally following the rules. As it evolved, it turned into something else. People started commenting for us to draw symbolic things and images. Eventually, our canvas was completely filled with color.
